Greek Moussaka – Layers of Tradition

Origins of Moussaka

Although moussaka has roots across the Mediterranean and the Middle East, the Greek version became world-famous in the early 20th century thanks to chef Nikolaos Tselementes. He added the béchamel topping, transforming the dish into the baked casserole we know today.
